On December 15th 2014 Edsel Records will issue Ian Dury: The Vinyl Collection, featuring all eight of the legendary artists long-players on 180g vinyl.
Ian Dury was a rock and roll vagabond with the wit and intelligence of Noël Coward and Oscar Wilde. His verbal dexterity as an entertainer and a lyric writer gave the world some of its most famous phrases sex and drugs and rock and roll and reasons to be cheerful. He was a true Renaissance man a talented painter, musician and actor who left behind a body of work that continues to amuse, impress and delight to this day.
All eight of Ian Durys studio albums are pressed onto 180-gram heavyweight black vinyl LPs, together for the first time in this deluxe vinyl boxset.
The set features the seminal solo works from Ian Dury along with The Blockheads & The Music Students studio records, cut from the latest digital remasters. The majority of the records are being reissued on vinyl for the first time, including two albums previously unreleased on the format.
The box set features the albums New Boots and Panties!! (1977), Do It Yourself (1979), Laughter (1980), Lord Upminster (1981), 4,000 Weeks Holiday (1984), Apples (1989), The Bus Drivers Prayer & Other Stories (1992), and Mr. Love Pants (1998).
