I Can’t Win The 2003 follow-up to their transcendent debut, ‘Room on Fire’ offers listeners more of the same Strokes (as if we wanted anything else). The album is certainly no departure from its predeccessor; this said, it’s a careful distillation of the Strokes’ signature sound, and certainly not the sound of a shot-in-the-pan outfit running out of ideas. The album boasts some of the band’s very best (‘Reptilia’ and ’12:51′ to name only two), and for some, ‘Room on Fire’ is the true pinnacle of the Strokes’ career.
