Description
Fogdiver is The Ocean’s first instrumental album. It is often classified under the genre of instrumental, progressive, and atmospheric metal, with elements of hardcore and doom metal.
The album’s style has been described by Kerrang! magazine as an “eminently listenable piece of work” with “skilful attention to mood comparable to soundtrack music”.
The original album was recorded in 2003 in the band’s Berlin basement, Oceanland. It features complex song structures and varied instrumentation.
Unlike many of the band’s later releases, the album contains no vocals, aside from a few voice samples.
