The John Martyn Project Volume Two continues a three-part tribute to the enduring influence of John Martyn, expanding the collectives vision beyond acoustic reverence into the darker, more exploratory edges of his work. What began as a one-off performance at Londons Jazz Cafe has grown into a vital, touring ensemble. Following a run of sold-out shows and international attention, the project returns with a deeper engagement with Martyns psychedelic and electronic period, recorded at Bert Jansch Studio in Frome. The collective brings together four distinctive UK vocalists – Blythe Pepino, Kit Hawes, Pete Josef and Sam Brookes – supported by the rhythm section of John Blakeley and Jon Short. Together, they honour Martyns emotional core while reimagining his music with renewed urgency and scope. Available on vinyl.
