This 180g vinyl LP release compiles a collection of rare tracks from the early stages of Nina Simones career. It is presented here for the first time ever on a single set.
Among the treasures are her seldom heard earliest recordings, four tracks recorded live, unbeknownst to the artist, at a club date in Atlantic City in 1956 (and first released, illegally, in 1964).
Four seldom heard singles waxed for Colpix follow, recorded with an orchestra between 1959-61. Various live recordings from the same period complete the album, with Nina on piano and vocals, unaccompanied.
