Description
LaVern Baker counts as one of the great singers from the early ear of RocknRoll. Her statuesque figure and charismatic persona made her a natural for TV and with her deep, seductive and sometimes raucous vocal delivery she got the hips shaking and the juices flowing.
Featuring two of her most well-know songs Jim Dandy and Tweedlee Dee, this is her second album, originally released in 1957. Containing seven of the nine singles (including their b-sides) released between 1953 1956, this is an exciting insight in the times when R&B turned into R&R.
