From a small corner of Dundee, Red Vanilla make alt-rock that hits hard and stays with you. Frontwoman Anna Forsyth writes like she’s tearing pages from a diary, while George Weller’s guitar lines shimmer between grit and gloss, held together by Lucas Mander’s relentless drumming. It’s fiery, emotional, and unapologetically honest—somewhere between Paramore’s bite and Wolf Alice’s cinematic haze.

Their debut EP Days of Grey laid the groundwork with seven tracks of heart-on-sleeve rock and has since caught the ears of Clash Magazine, The Skinny, and Loud Women. Now the band follow up with Where I Should Be, a bolder, more confident evolution that captures who they’ve become after a whirlwind of gigs and growth. Its seven tracks are supplemented by three bonus tracks from Days of Grey for this vinyl edition.

In the past year, Red Vanilla have played Camden Underworld supporting Dea Matrona and Kyle Falconer, opened for The Kairos in Edinburgh, and recently hit Glasgow with Bones Ate Arfa. They’ve stormed Stag and Dagger Festival, toured Switzerland on their own steam, and even played their first Asian show in Bangkok—not bad for a band who still rehearse in their drummer’s spare bedroom.
