‘Unknown Road’ is the second studio album by American punk rock band Pennywise, released on 17th August 1993 through Epitaph Records.
After frontman Jim Lindberg briefly left the band during touring in support of their self-titled debut album, Pennywise began the recording sessions for their second album. Released a year before the success of punk rock in California, ‘Unknown Road’ gained Pennywise supporting slots on national and world tours with bands such as The Offspring (who were just about to hit the mainstream with then-new album ‘Smash’).
On ‘Unknown Road’, Pennywise step up their songwriting, maintain all their fury and intensity and lay out their philosophy of independence and the importance of daring to live every moment to it’s fullest. This album features a number of songs that played on tons of skate, surf and snowboarding videos, making this, and other PW records to come, the soundtrack to the exploding extreme sports scene in the 90s. Featuring classics ‘Homesick’, ‘Unknown Road’, ‘It’s Up To Me’ and ‘You Can Demand’.
