Sweet Baboo is not one to rest on his laurels. Having released his critically acclaimed fourth album Ships earlier this year and with a summer full of festival appearances including Glastonbury, Latitude, Festival No 6 and Green Man, he now announces news of a new EP entitled Motorhome Songs.
Due for release on November 11th through Moshi Moshi, the EP is the soundtrack to a fictional road trip Black made with his family earlier this summer. A collection of instrumentals alongside the beautiful ditties Motorhome, You Are The Best Beach I Know and lead track Motoring Home, the EP will be released as a limited 10 vinyl and digital download.
Motorhome Songs plots the journey from Sweet Baboos home in Cardiff to the countryside in Northumberland the aforementioned beach is the spectacular spot at Bamburgh Castle before the adventure ends and its time to head home again. Black imagined the soundtrack being broadcast as a BBC documentary from the early 80s scheduled between Tomorrows World and a Roger Moore Bond film a documentary that wouldnt be shown on TV anymore. The music was made with this in mind; Wings and Traveling Wilburys were the main inspiration for the songs and The Radiophonic Workshop for the incidental music.
