Brisbane indie folk act Hollow Coves deliver their anticipated debut full-length album, Moments via Nettwerk Records. Produced by Chris Bond [Ben Howard, Justin Nozuka, Xavier Rudd] and recorded in the countryside in the south of England, the 11 songs that make up Moments were inspired by reflecting on a variety of moments and unforgettable shared experiences in their lives, and the lives of those around them, over the past three years.
After our EP came out, we got a lot of messages from people saying that our music helped them through tough or stressful times, recalls Matt Carins. I think that definitely motivated us when we were working on Moments. We wanted to continue to write songs that could help to shine light and bring a bit of peace into peoples lives. Adds Ryan Henderson, I guess in a way we wanted the album to be the music equivalent of some sort of new-age retreat where people might go to sit still, renew their mind, and shift their focus to something more positive.
Ryan and Matts memories from their travels across all corners of the globe have led to a range of new music influenced by their journeys. Blending an earthy folk sound, acoustic melodies & vocal harmonies; Matt and Ryan take turns delivering lyrics of reflection, frequently harmonizing as their voices blend together and complement each other.
