Jamie xx will release a remastered version of his debut album In Colour on 11th December 2020 on Young Turks. Jamies definitive In Colour is a bold, celebratory and emotional artistic statement that received critical acclaim across the board as well achieving huge commercial success.
The eleven track LP was widely regarded as one of the best albums of 2015 and was voted in the top 25 of Pitchforks best records of the decade. In Colour went on to receive Grammy, Brit and Mercury Award nominations, reaching Gold status in the UK Official Charts, and its lead single I Know Theres Gonna Be (Good Times) featuring Young Thug and Popcaan is certified Gold in the USA.
As well as continued success with The xx (whose third album I See You was released in 2017), Jamie released a new single Idontknow in April this year, which has sold out on limited edition 12.
In Colour will be available on single coloured LP (with colours distributed at random as a lucky dip), and standard black vinyl
The release of In Colour came on the back of an incredible six year creative period for Jamie xx, which had seen him alternate effortlessly between his role as founding member and producer of The xx and creator of more electronic and club orientated music as Jamie xx.
A string of acclaimed productions in recent years including debut solo single Far Nearer, remixes for the likes of Adele, Radiohead and Florence & The Machine, production work for Drake and Alicia Keys, plus Were New Here, Jamies seminal reworking of Gil Scott-Herons final studio album hinted at what was to come. · With In Colour a bold, celebratory, emotional record that features collaborations with The xx bandmates Romy Madley Croft (Seesaw and Loud Places) and Oliver Sim (Stranger In A Room), Young Thug and Popcaan (Good Times) and Four Tet (Seesaw) Jamie delivers his definitive artistic statement.
