Gojira has been known for their progressive and technical death metal styles and their spiritual, philosophical, and environmentally-themed lyrics. The band has gone from the utmost obscurity during the first decade of their career to widespread global recognition. While debut album ‘Terra Incognita’ was more death metal influenced, ‘The Link’ is musically a stepping stone to Gojira’s progression that lead them to the ‘From Mars To Sirius’ breakthrough, and is maybe their more unpredictable record with a unique atmosphere showing various influences. ‘The Link’ churns out blast beat savagery and crushing double bass work backed up by a massive wall of guitars.
