Description
This 1968 release shows a stylistic shift from acoustic with his 2nd quintet to his subsequent electric period. Filles de Kilimanjaro was critically acclaimed by contemporary critics who saw it as a significant release in modern jazz.
The June 1968 sessions features Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams. The September sessions replaced Hancock with Chick Corea and Carter with Dave Holland.
