San Diego, CA based hard rockers P.O.D. make their Mascot Label Group debut with Circles, their tenth studio album overall and follow-up to 2015 conceptual effort The Awakening. Circles sees P.O.D. expanding the horizons of their creative process with the help and new perspective on songwriting by masterful production duo Heavy.
Vocalist Sonny Sandoval explains, Weve always been so stubborn about writing with people so this time around we were a little bit vulnerable. We had an open mindset. It was like, lets just go with these guys, and lets just show them what we got. Theres a lot of catchy stuff on this record. There are cool little things that Heavy were on top of. Theres a lot more thats going on that just drums, bass, guitar and vocals. What results is a range of songs that wholly present what P.O.D. is. We didnt limit ourselves, adds Sondoval. Weve been doing this for 26 years. Were all veterans in this game now. We just want to play and write songs that we hop are relevant and catchy to a new audience while at the same time, were still being true to ourselves.
