To honour its 25th anniversary, Before These Crowded Streets by the Dave Matthews Band is being reissued by Legacy Recordings. The bands third album, it was originally released in the spring of 1998, receiving both critical and commercial success. Dethroning the Titanic soundtrack, which sat atop the Billboard 200 for 16 consecutive weeks, Before These Crowded Streets was certified triple-platinum and began the bands impressive streak of six No. 1 albums in a row.
The LA Times said: On this album, the band places an even higher premium on musical proficiency. Songs such as Rapunzel and The Stone are built around vertiginous poly rhythms and serpentine riffs that dart around Matthews clenched vocals, yet always manage to lock into an enjoyable groove.
Newly remastered, this album contains several tracks that band still perform in their live set to this day and this deluxe 2LP package comes in a gatefold jacket containing a photo booklet with rare photos.
