Description
Following his first new music in twelve years (this summers EP ONE), Paul Draper, former Mansun frontman, announces the release of a second four track EP of new material.
EP One and EP Two are part of the build up to Pauls debut solo album due for release in Spring 2017. Kscope will be releasing EP Two as a CD Digipack and on 180g heavyweight audiophile vinyl.
Paul Draper was the frontman, main songwriter and producer of Mansun one of the most iconic bands of the 90s. The bands debut album Attack of the Grey Lantern entered the UK chart at No 1. The band split in 2003 while recording their fourth LP (partially released on 2004s Kleptomania).
Released in June earlier this year, EP One, was supported by industry gatekeepers happy to see Mansuns frontman make a return to the scene, including a radio premiere by Steve Lamaq, receiving plays on Chris Hawkinss 6 Music show and playlisted by BBC 6 Music, playlisted by Radio X, Q Magazines Track of the Day, NME Track of the Week and a feature from The Line of Best Fit. EP Two is backed by radio servicing from Caroline International.
The first track from EP Two, Friends Make The Worst Enemies, is a knock-out punch of a track; five minutes of relentless chasmic melody and melancholy an immediate reminder of why Pauls songs were rarely far from the FM dial during his former band Mansuns supernova career, co-written and featuring The Anchoress following their collaboration successes on EP One and Catherines solo album Confessions of a Romance Novelist. The following tracks: Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid, is a spacious ballad recorded on guitar and piano; Dont You Wait, It Might Never Come is a ramped up, surging rocknroll song; and the last track is a bare bones acoustic version of Friends Make The Worst Enemies.
