Already released in Australia and New Zealand to much critical and commercial acclaim, Blue Smoke will be released in the rest of the world on May 12, 2014 in advance of the Blue Smoke World Tour hitting England, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden. The brand new album of the most honoured female country performer of all time will be released on 180 gram audiophile vinyl on May 19, 2014 by Music On Vinyl and includes a free download card.
Blue Smoke reflects the character of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee where Dolly Parton grew up, and the tone to an extent harks back to the rootsy, back-to-basics albums she put out at the turn of the 21st century. The majority of the songs are Dollys own, but she has also recorded versions of Bon Jovis Lay Your Hands on Me and Bob Dylans Dont Think Twice Its All Right to round out the collection. Special guests on the album are Willie Nelson and Kenny Rogers.
