Description
Hole – Live Through This is the band’s second studio album, released on 12 April 1994 via DGC Records.
Recorded in October 1993, it captures a shift from the band’s earlier raw, hardcore edges toward a tighter, more melodic structure without losing its intensity. Produced by Sean Slade and Paul Q. Kolderie, with mixing by Scott Litt and J Mascis, the record sits at a precise intersection of abrasion and clarity.
It remains the only Hole album to feature bassist Kristen Pfaff, who died in June 1994. The songs centre on recurring themes of beauty, motherhood, anti-elitism, and violence against women, with a direct, unflinching lyrical voice throughout.
