Description
folklore is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released online on July 24, 2020, eleven months after her previous album, Lover (2019).
The album was written and recorded in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, with production from Aaron Dessner (from The National), Jack Antonoff and Swift herself.
Departing from the mainstream pop sound of Swifts previous three albums, Folklore is an indie folk, alternative rock, electro-folk and chamber pop record driven by pianos and guitars. Described by Swift as a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness rising out of her imagination during isolation.
Features guest vocals from Bon Iver on the track Exile.
