Description
Since Dave Mustaine left the band Metallica more than 20 years ago and founded Megadeth shortly after, the extremely successful heavy metal band has been rocking through the heavy metal world. The 2CD ‘Anthology: Set The World Afire’ spans this grandiose career and includes their greatest hits, including a previously unreleased demo and two rare live tracks!
‘Anthology: Set The World Afire’ is packed with 35 electrifying tracks, including the top hits: “Trust”, “A Tout Le Monde”, “Insomnia” and “Train Of Consequences”, including two rare concert recordings from 1992 of “Peace Sells” and “Symphony Of Destruction”, as well as the unreleased demo track “High Speed Dirt”.
Starting with their 1985 debut album ‘Killing Is My Business Is Good!’ and the following three albums, Megadeth created their own dynamic style before exploding into the mainstream with their fifth album ‘Countdown To Extinction’ in 1992, thus gaining a wider fan base. More grandiose albums followed, such as: ‘Youthanasia’ (1994) or ‘Cryptic Writings’ (1997). After a short break in 2002 they returned in 2004 with their tenth album ‘The System Has Failed’.
In recent years, Megadeth’s cult vocalist Mustaine has been involved in the broad remastering campaign of albums released by Capitol Music, which began with the second album ‘Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?’. Mustaine spent months remixing, remastering, reprocessing, and in some cases even reconstructing, so that the Megadeth Capitol Music catalog was as close as possible to the original. Megadeth have taken heavy metal into the future – musically, lyrically and culturally – in three decades, earning the band 7 Grammy nominations and several Platinum / Multi-Platinum awards to date. The 2CD ‘Anthology: Set The World Afire’ proves once again that Megadeth is an indispensable force in heavy metal history.
