Misfits – Project 1950
Released in 2003, Project 1950 is a Misfits special project dedicated to punk covers of 1950s rock ’n’ roll classics. Founding member Jerry Only fronts the record on bass and lead vocals, joined by Black Flag alumnus Dez Cadena on guitars — an all-star line-up that brings genuine energy and conviction to a set of songs that clearly meant something to them.
From Earth Angel to Wonderful One, the album tears through its source material with the Misfits’ trademark ferocity while keeping the spirit of the originals intact. A fun, fast and surprisingly affectionate tribute to the music that helped create punk rock in the first place.
