Description
Solo Anthology The Best of Lindsey Buckingham is the first-ever, comprehensive compilation from the legendary Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. In addition to his prolific and beloved work with Fleetwood Mac the versatile Buckingham is also a widely celebrated solo artist which is thoroughly documented here. Solo Anthology includes album, live and alternate versions from Law and Order (1981), Go Insane (1984), Out of the Cradle (1992), Under the Skin (2006), Gift of Screws (2008) and Seeds We Sow (2011) plus songs from his 2017 collaborative release with Christine McVie.
The anthology also incorporates Buckinghams film work with Holiday Road and Dancin Across The USA from the 1983 soundtrack to National Lampoons Vacation and Time Bomb Town from 1985s Back to the Future. Live versions of Fleetwood Macs Tusk and Go Your Own Way round out the 180g 6LP box set collection, but the most thrilling moments come in the form of the pair of previously unreleased new songs, Hunger and Ride This Road.
My goal has always been to continue to take risks, to continue to aspire to be an artist. Nowhere is this more strongly represented than in my solo endeavors, explains Buckingham. Im one who likes to look forward, not back. But curating this compilation album creativity spanning three decades turned out to be surprisingly cathartic. For the first time I was able to appreciate the cohesive thread running through the body of work, and Im proud of how fresh and vital it all remains. I hope those listening to his album enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
