Description
The Debut album from Spring Offensive Young Animal Hearts. This is a hymn book for the young and affected. This is resilient music fuelled by an energy, a creativity, a need to be heard. Fresh from support slots with London Grammar, Local Natives, Stornoway and To Kill A King and set to head to Europe with the latter in late Jan/Feb before heading out on a headline tour Spring Offensive are set to make waves with their first offering. Spring Offensives music was once described as akin to a quarter life crisis. A constant lyrical undercurrent of the challenges faced by young adults trying to carve out an identity in the world and the (universally felt) themes of obsession and self-doubt synonymous with this struggle.
Yet Spring Offensives music is by no means maudlin. Dark, intense, even sinister at times, but fuelled by an energy, a creativity, a need to be heard that turns that introspection into something very outward and vivid. Live, theyre loud and intense, led by their towering, wiry and uniquely charismatic frontman. To see them is a cathartic experience, a group therapy session.
Their debut Young Animal Hearts has been eight years in the making. With numerous accolades being collected along the way Oxford BBC Introducing Band of the Year in 2012, a playlist on BBC Radio 1, several lengthy European tours and a successful PledgeMusic campaign to funding the album recording.
The release has UK radio support from 6Music, Amazing & XFM, media support from The Line Of Best Fit, Hunger Magazine, Never Enough, Drowned In Sound and a live session confirmed with Daytrotter.
