Description
Peter Gabriels second self-titled debut album, affectionately known as SCRATCH, due to the iconic Hipgnosis designed cover available again in its original LP configuration.
These albums have been Half-Speed Remastered and cut to lacquers at 33RPM on 1LP heavyweight vinyl (2LP for Us & Up). Vinyl cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering, mastered by Tony Cousins at Metropolis and overseen by Peters main sound engineer Richard Chappell. Sleeve artwork and inner bag as per the original LP release. The albums come with a download card with a choice of digital download (Hi-Res 24/96k or 16/44.1k)
Recorded over the winter of 1977-78 in the Netherlands and New York City, the second self-titled album was released in June 1978. Robert Fripp, the guitarist on the first record, was promoted to the producers chair and continued to feed Peters growing fascination with electronics and new recording techniques. The resulting album is a denser, more experimental album than the debut.
