Friends since elementary school, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, New York formed the group Tom & Jerry in their junior year of high school and first recorded in the late 50s, some 8 years before hitting it big as Simon & Garfunkel. The track Hey Schoolgirl was a minor hit, selling 100,000 copies and reaching #49 on the Billboard charts. Early on the duo was heavily influenced by the Everly Brothers and that influence is definitely seen here on these 20 tracks, recorded between 1958 and 1962.
